Everything guests, owners and landlords usually ask us. Can't find yours? Get in touch.
For guests
How do I book a stay?
Visit our Stays page, choose a home and select Check availability to see live dates and pricing on its secure booking page. Booking directly with us means you deal with the people who actually care for the home.
Can I ask a question before I book?
Of course. Call or text 902-418-5944 or send a note through our contact page. We aim to reply within 24 hours, and usually much sooner.
Are your homes a good weekend getaway from Halifax?
Yes. Our South Shore homes are roughly an hour's drive from Halifax, which makes them an easy Friday to Sunday escape from the city. Nova Scotians from every corner of the province are just as welcome: a change of scenery is often closer than you think.
Do you offer longer stays?
Yes. Many of our homes are available for monthly furnished stays, which suit travelling professionals, relocations and families between homes. Ask us about availability and monthly rates.
For property owners
Which areas do you service?
We offer property and short-term rental management across much of Nova Scotia:
- Halifax Regional Municipality: Halifax, Dartmouth, Bedford, Cole Harbour, Sackville, Hammonds Plains, Timberlea, Tantallon and St. Margaret's Bay.
- South Shore: Hubbards, Blandford, Chester, Mahone Bay, Blockhouse, Lunenburg, Kingsburg, Lower Rose Bay, Newburne and Bridgewater.
We also support owners elsewhere in the province through consulting, listing setup and optimization.
How much does short-term rental management cost?
Fees depend on the property type, location, level of service and how complex the operation is. Full management is typically a share of gross bookings, while consulting and setup are usually a flat rate. Every fee is laid out clearly in writing before your property is onboarded.
Is short-term rental management worth it?
For many owners, yes. Professional management can raise net income through better occupancy, smarter nightly rates and stronger reviews, while giving you back your time. Owners who plan to add more properties often see the strongest returns.
How do you approach Airbnb revenue?
We combine dynamic pricing and market analysis, listing optimization (photos, copy, amenities and search), strategic minimum stays and availability settings, and careful review management. Revenue management is ongoing work, never set and forget.
Do you handle cleaning and maintenance?
Yes, for full-service management. We coordinate cleaning between every stay and oversee maintenance as issues arise, keeping you informed and handling repairs efficiently.
How do you set the nightly price for my home?
We combine dynamic pricing technology with local judgement. Rates update daily based on demand, season, day of the week, local events and booking pace, and we review performance every week rather than setting it and forgetting it.
Where will my property be advertised?
On Airbnb and other major booking platforms where it will perform best, on your own direct booking page, and on our website and social channels. Professional photos and a well-written listing do most of the work.
How do you make sure guests have a great stay?
Fast replies before, during and after every stay, a spotless home checked against our own standards, clear check-in instructions and local recommendations. Happy guests leave five-star reviews, and those reviews drive future bookings.
Do I need to charge HST on my short-term rental?
It depends on your situation. In general, owners whose taxable revenue exceeds the small supplier threshold must register for GST/HST, and booking platforms collect and remit tax for hosts who are not registered on bookings made through the platform. This is general information only, so please confirm the details with your accountant.
Do you work with owners outside Nova Scotia?
Our hands-on management is focused in Nova Scotia, but we work with owners across North America through consulting and remote support: Airbnb setup, listing optimization, pricing strategy, operating systems and performance improvements.
Leasing and re-renting
What does re-renting a property involve?
When a tenant is moving out, or a unit has been sitting empty, we handle the whole turnover: pricing the unit, photographing and advertising it, booking showings, screening applicants and preparing the lease so the next tenancy starts smoothly.
How do you screen tenants?
Every applicant goes through a consistent process that can include an application, employment and income verification, landlord references and a credit check, always with the applicant's consent and in line with Nova Scotia's tenancy and privacy rules.
Which lease do you use?
Residential tenancies in Nova Scotia use the province's Standard Form of Lease under the Residential Tenancies Act. We prepare it, walk both parties through it and document the condition of the unit at move-in.
